NOTE: Please do NOT do this unless specifically instructed by IT.


  1. Click the start button, and type "cmd"

  2. right-click "Command Prompt", and select "Run as administrator" (Note: to right-click on a touchscreen, press and hold instead of tapping)



  3. type "gpupdate /force", and then press the [Enter] key (Note the space, and slash, in the command)


  4. Wait for the command to complete. If it's been a minute or more, press [Enter] a couple more times
  5. When the command it complete, you'll be back to a new line with "C:\WINDOWS\system32>" and a blinking underscore


  6. Type "shutdown /r /t 0" and press the [Enter] key. The machine will reboot. (Note: the last character is a zero, not an uppercase letter "oh".)


  7. Done!
